The rose carries an argument that goes back to the "bread and roses" strikes of 1912: that working people are owed more than bare survival. It became the actual emblem of the democratic left later, through a fist-and-rose mark drawn in Paris around 1969, and parties and unions across the world still use it. Yes, and we mean the whole garment. Every DRESS piece is cut, sewn and finished in the United States by people working under a union contract, with wages they bargained for and a grievance process behind them. That is a stronger claim than most brands can make, because most stop at "union printed", meaning only the ink was union work and the shirt underneath came from wherever was cheapest. Ours is union all the way down.

Because somebody got paid. The cotton is 6.1 oz instead of the 4.5 oz they hand out at conferences, it was cut and sewn in the United States, and every person who touched it worked under a contract. A twelve-dollar shirt costs twelve dollars because somebody, somewhere, ate the difference. It was not you.

Cold water, inside out, with like colors, then hang dry. Garment-dyed cotton fades a shade over the first few washes by design; that's the look wearing in, not wearing out. A hot dryer is the one thing that genuinely shrinks it.
